CrossComm Releases SCI FI Wire Application for iPhone and iPod Touch

February 11, 2009 — Durham, NC — CrossComm, Inc. today announced the launch of SCI FI Wire, an application for the iPhone and iPod Touch for those who want to be on the cutting edge of Sci-Fi entertainment headlines. Developed for NBC Universal and available for free through the iTunes App Store, SCI FI Wire uses a touch-savvy iPhone interface to provide access to all the latest Science Fiction news regarding movies, TV, games, books, and top celebrities - in both text and video format.

“We’re thrilled to have partnered with NBC Universal on building this app,” said Don Shin, President of CrossComm. “We’re big fans of the SCI FI Channel’s TV shows, and we think this app will be a lot of fun ‘on the go’ for other fans of SCI FI as well.”

The SCI Fi Wire app is based upon the CrossComm Media Reader engine, which is a licensable software platform that allows for the rapid development of feature-rich news and video applications for the iPhone and iPod Touch.

CrossComm, having been an early pioneer in iPhone software development, celebrates this as their seventh iPhone application. CrossComm plans to continue to increase its commitment to the nascent mobile application market in 2009, and has recently expanded an internal team dedicated to iPhone and mobile software development and consulting. CrossComm recently developed the "Mobile by Citysearch" iPhone app for InterActive Corp. and is proud to release this new application in conjuction with SCI FI, a subsidiary of NBC Universal.
