Web Programmer

Description

CrossComm is currently looking for a programmer to join our development team. This person will be responsible for designing, developing, supporting, and documenting software for both client and internal projects. Duties include building functionality for a content management system (Java, Servlets, XML), creating front-end presentation layers (HTML, JSP, PHP, Flash) as well as developing mid and back-end services and systems (Java, Servlets, SQL, Actionscript), and providing system administration for both internal and production servers.

Qualifications

• 2 years experience in Java applications development
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• Excellent Java programming skills
• Comprehensive knowledge of object-oriented Java programming principles
• Knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems
• Excellent communication and creative problem-solving skills
• Strong sense of self-motivation
• Ability and willingness to learn quickly
• Ability to work independently and with a team
• Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks
• Directly related education and/or experience may be considered in place of the above requirements.

Preferences

• Experience in designing and developing web applications
• Experience in content management system development
• Strong understanding of design patterns
• Experience with J2EE (JSP, Servlets, Jakarta Tomcat), XML, XSLT, HTML, Javascript, PHP, Flash, Actionscript, and CVS technologies
• Familiarity with SQL databases (in particular MySQL) and database design concepts
• Experience with the Mac OS X/FreeBSD platform
